Filter-free adjustment to ambient light

The revolutionary compact Keldan 8XR Ambient 18,000 lm video light utilizes our unique ambient filter system, which enables seamless blending of artificial and ambient light, and takes it to the next level by eliminating the need for a filter. The 8XR Ambient’s LEDs emit light in a spectrum that matches ambient light at a depth of 6 m (~20'), with a luminous flux (lumen output) that is nearly twice as high as that of a standard 8XR 20,000 lm with an external AF6B filter.

Ready for wireless control

The 8XR Ambient is compatible with the powerful RC1 wireless remote control. The RC1 can be connected to an unlimited number of lights in two groups and enables precise power control at distances of up to 50 m (~160'). Regardless of whether the lights are mounted on the camera or not, the remote control enables faster and more precise control, resulting in longer effective runtime.

Extensive coverage

With a soft and uniform beam angle of 110º in water and a natural-looking light fall-off, the light from the 8XR Ambient blends seamlessly with the existing natural light, without any harsh edges or uneven areas.

Compact, smart design

The 8XR Ambient was designed specifically for traveling videographers and has a minimal footprint that adds just 0.87 kg (~1.9 lbs) to your kit. Underwater, each light weighs a manageable 0.3 kg (~0.66 lbs), which can be easily balanced with buoyancy arms.

Travel-Ready Li-Ion Battery System

Designed for travel and use on the most demanding film sets, the 8X system’s proprietary battery has passed the UN38.3 safety test required by the IATA, meaning it is certified for air transport. The battery’s capacity is also below the maximum permitted value of 100 Wh. Additional safety is provided by the integrated protection circuit, which safeguards against harmful conditions such as over-discharge, deep discharge, overcurrent, or short circuits.

Smart Information Display

Integrated into the battery and clearly visible through the flashlight’s transparent rear cap during use are both a visual battery indicator—where each bar represents 10 % d—and a runtime countdown that shows the remaining time at the current power level. When connected to the charger, the display shows the remaining charging time and the battery’s charge level.

The AFA 3 W filter converts the spectrum into a 10,000 K white light equivalent to a depth of 3 m, ideal for very shallow water or macro photography. The AFA 12 B filter converts the native spectrum into one equivalent to a depth of 12 m, so that the light spectrum produced by the AF 12 B filter corresponds to white light. Please note that all other available ambient filters are not compatible with the Video 8XR Ambient 18000lm.
